Pollen is a bee product gathered by honeybees from flowers of plants, mainly entomophiles ones. It is distinguished by its high content of B group vitamins, monosaccharides and polysaccharides, as well as amino acids, including arginine. It has anticoagulant effects. It also contains other nutritive and biologically active substances. It is called a “vitamin bomb” because of its composition. Pollen is used to increase appetite, vitamin deficiency, alimentary system and liver diseases. For several years, pollen has been successfully applied in prostatic hypertrophy. Pollen treatment improves general feeling of well-being, boosts immunity. Pollen from different plants and different picking periods demonstrate differentiated effects. Pollen is commercially available in such forms: dried pollen, tablets, granules and in honey mixes.
